Advocacy counseling is available to clients who want to meet one-on-one with an advocacy counselor. Sessions are available on a scheduled basis during business hours or during specific walk-in hours. These sessions are strength and empowerment-based and include emotional support, on-going safety planning, identifying coping skills, problem solving, information about the effects of domestic violence and sexual assault, and referrals to other community resources. Advocates can also provide emotional support during medical exams.

The screening is also provided to help parents identify their child’s strengths and weaknesses and provide home suggestions and/or further evaluation if needed in any area of concern.
