Volunteer Ally Program - Road2Home
Volunteers are paired with people experiencing homelessness to support them on their journey. Volunteer allies are there to listen, provide companionship, connect clients with resources, and help them realize their goals. Being an ally requires a 6-month commitment where volunteer allies and participants meet in-person twice per month and are available\nfor phone calls and check-in’s in between.

Certified Peer Specialists provide recovery support to adults who have an opiate and/or stimulant use disorder and experience or are at risk of homelessness. Peer specialists have lived experience of substance use and mental health recovery and are trained to provide support services.

Advocacy counseling is available to clients who want to meet one-on-one with an advocacy counselor. Sessions are available on a scheduled basis during business hours or during specific walk-in hours. These sessions are strength and empowerment-based and include emotional support, on-going safety planning, identifying coping skills, problem solving, information about the effects of domestic violence and sexual assault, and referrals to other community resources. A part of the Al-Anon Family Groups’ fellowship for younger members whose lives have been affected by someone else’s drinking. At Alateen Meetings, younger members meet other Alateens with similar situations. Alateen is not a religious program and there are no fees or dues to belong to it.
