Lummi Victims of Crime

Helps adults or adolescents who have been affected by domestic violence, sexual assault, elder abuse, assault & battery, survivor of homicide, and child abuse. Services include: crisis counseling, advocacy for domestic violence and sexual assault crimes, safety planning, legal advocacy, transportation to medical, legal, and therapy appointments, Domestic Violence shelter, traditional healing and emergency assistance.

New Way Home Program - New Way Ministries

A faith-based transitional living facility for homeless women and children who may be struggling from addiction, domestic violence, human trafficking, or a crisis pregnancy. Services include safe clean rooms and warm beds, 24 hour support staff, services for pregnant women, weekly case management, life skills classes, access to community resources, help with finding permanent housing, options for employment and continuing education, and more.

HUSLY Temporary Shelter - Northwest Youth Services

Temporary housing program for young adults ages 18 to 24. Provides four beds at each location (Bellingham and Mt. Vernon) where young adults can stay for up to 90 days. Note: HUSLY is accessed through a main application process and is NOT first come, first served.

Bellingham Severe Weather Shelter - Whatcom County Health and Community Services

Shelter will open when severe cold weather forecasts meet opening criteria. When activated, the shelter will be open from 4:00 PM to 9:00 AM, with check-in from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM, and lights out from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM. Space is available on a first-come, first-served basis. The space can hold approximately 60 people, with limited storage space for personal belongings. Service, emotional support, and therapy animals are welcome.

Safe Housing Program - DVSAS

Provides safe, confidential shelter to individuals and families fleeing domestic violence. Clients have access to basic food, clothing, personal items, and bedding if needed. Advocates are available to conduct intakes and provide advocacy twenty-four hours a day. Shelter is available for all survivors. This program is accessible to persons with disabilities and accepts service animals. Other pets may be accepted on a case by case basis.

Flood Emergency Shelter - Sulwhanon (Mi’sq’eq’o) Community Building

Temporary shelter available for residents displaced by December 2025 flooding. Pets are allowed as part of the shelter admittance but are crated outside. Whatcom Ready can assist with more kennel resources as needed. Operated by the Red Cross.

Base Camp - Lighthouse Mission Ministries

24/7 overnight shelter and day center including men and women dorms, medical respite, and a family shelter. Pets welcome. Nightly check-in begins at 7pm. Free breakfast (7am), lunch (12pm), and dinner (5pm) served daily. Other services for guests include showers, public restrooms, and laundry services.
