Eligibility

Veterans who were honorably discharged. At the time of death, recipients must have been residing in a VA facility or have been receiving or entitled to a disability compensation or pension.

Write, call, visit office or access website. Apply by filling out a VA Form for Application for Burial Benefits.  

Fees

None. Burial allowances range up to $2,000 for service-related death and plot allowances up to $300 for non-service-related death.
