Peer-to-Peer Class - NAMI of Whatcom County

This free class is an experiential learning program for people experiencing a mental health challenge who are interested in establishing and maintaining their wellness and recovery. Peer-to-Peer consists of eight two-hour units and is taught by a team of two trained teachers and a volunteer support person, all of whom are personally experienced at living well with mental illness.

Provides residence, meals, medication management services, medical supervision, recreational activities and other supportive services to persons living with HIV/AIDS and who also may suffer from other diseases, mental illness, substance abuse, and/or developmental disabilities. To qualify for residency must have low or no income, diagnosis of HIV/AIDS, and be unable to live independently.

They also refer people to community behavioral health services for additional support.

Jail Health - Northwest Regional Council

Provides health services in the Whatcom County jail following the requirements set out by the National Commission on Correctional Health Care Standards. The most frequent health conditions affecting residents in the jail are addiction, mental illness, systemic infections, diabetes, hypertension, cardiac and gastrointestinal disorders, and traumatic injury.

Geriatric Transition Program - Sunrise Health Homes and GTP Services

Helps adults with challenging behaviors transition from a hospital to a long term care facility that meets their needs. This program is for adults with serious mental illness, dementia, mood disorder or other neurological disorders. Eligible adults also have challenging behaviors which are a barrier to hospital discharge OR their long term care facility placement is at risk due to challenging behaviors.
