A federal program dedicated to making phone and internet service more affordable for low-income households. This benefit provides eligible consumers with a monthly discount of up to $9.25, or up to $34.25 per month for households living on on qualifying Tribal land. Certain Lifeline providers offer free phone service for qualifying households, and may provide you with a free cell phone.

The Housing Choice Voucher program (Section 8) is a rent subsidy program funded by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and administered by the Bellingham Housing Authority (BHA). This voucher based program is designed to assist lower income families, disabled individuals, and the elderly to find well-maintained housing in the private market in a location of their choosing, at a price they can afford.
