A youth-led diversion service focusing on healing and accountability through Restorative Justice. Teen Court serves 12-17 year olds in partnership with Whatcom County Superior Court and several high schools throughout Whatcom County. Student volunteers act as judges, jurors and attorneys (referred to as advocates), to both learn how a courtroom setting works and to offer an alternative to the standard criminal justice system.

NWIRP takes on a variety of cases, representing people who are recent arrivals to the United States as well as those who have been in the country for many years.
Ongoing legal process to prioritize water usage along the Nooksack River Watershed and Bellingham Bay. Relevant to individuals or businesses who draw water from wells or waterbodies like lakes and rivers. These resources provide more information and document how to submit a claim when applicable.
Family Recovery Court (FRC) is a voluntary & non-adversarial program offered as an alternative to the standard dependency case process. The collaborative FRC team serves each participant's individual needs. The team speeds access to substance use and mental health treatment services, parenting support, and other needed services. FRC increases the participants' accountability by holding frequent compliance hearings, dependency review hearings and requiring candor with the Court. The FRC Commissioner regularly review participant progress, talks with the participants regarding their struggles and successes, and provides rewards for progress and responses for rule infractions.
Volunteer lawyers provide free, brief legal consultations. Come prepared with any papers related to your case. Call for more information about upcoming clinics, or view calendar online. Generally one Saturday a month starting at 10:30AM.
A toll-free legal hotline for seniors (age 60 and over). Services are targeted to problems that affect basic needs such as housing, income, medical care and family safety. Due to limited resources, lawyers and paralegals are not able to assist every caller.

Whatcom County Recovery Court (formerly Drug Court) is to reduce crime and improve the quality of life and safety in our community by fostering long-term change in individuals living with a substance use disorder. Whatcom County Recovery Court provides intensive case management services to individuals living with a substance use disorder.
Helps immigrants obtain United States Citizenship. NWIRP ensures that people with disabilities can attain U.S. citizenship, fights wrongful citizenship denials, represents people with criminal records who are still eligible for U.S. citizenship, and defends U.S. citizens who have been wrongfully placed in removal proceedings.
