A holiday gift assistance program for families living in the Blaine School District who are facing difficult financial circumstances. Gifts are arranged in a store-like setting where parents can purchase brand new, unwrapped toys marked down about 75%. Voucher assistance is available for families needing extra help.
Basic Needs provided free of charge to those in need in our community. Resources include clothing, household goods, toiletries, period supplies, cleaning supplies, diapers, emergency food, and more. Limited financial assistance available Mondays and Fridays.

A place to shop and to donate quality new and used women’s clothing. Clothing vouchers provided for women in need. Back to Work Vouchers also available, good for 3 fully styled outfits for interviews or work. Call or visit the YWCA office to inquire about vouchers for yourself or for your organization.
Provides one sleeve of diapers and one pack of wipes per visit to families in Whatcom County who cannot afford enough diapers to keep their baby clean, dry, and healthy. To be eligible, a family must have children ages 0-5 yrs old, household income must be 60% AMI or less, and the family must not have other resources to cover the cost of items.
County resources for disposal of trash, including hazardous waste, yard waste, needles, and recycling options.

The Holiday Giving Store is set up just like a store, but gifts are free to families that qualify. The store is stocked with a variety of gifts and toys, and warm clothing like pajamas and sweatshirts are available for parents or guardians to choose for each child. Application typically opens in November.
Retail location intended to divert as much reusable material as possible from the landfill and to build a culture of reuse in our community by providing salvaged and reclaimed building materials, vintage decor, and a place for community members to donate lightly used items.
Provides funds to families in need to help cover costs associated with medical bills, therapies and numerous other aspects of supporting a child or young adult on the autism spectrum. Applicants can request a yearly grant up to $1,000 to help cover the costs to get the care, support and items needed.

Sends an age-appropriate book each month to all registered children in Whatcom County. All Whatcom County children aged zero to five are eligible for this free program.
Provides free clothing and household linens to residents of Blaine, Birch Bay, and Custer. Limited hygiene supplies may also be available.
Services provided onsite include clothing and household items, hygiene supplies (Other Bank), transportation assistance, shower and laundry referrals, help with City of Ferndale water and sewer bills (Utility Fund), computer and phone use, housing and job search, community resource navigation and referrals, and more.

A day-use center for at-risk, runaway and homeless youth ages 24 and under. Youth can connect with supportive adults, receive basic needs items such as food, clothing and gear for sleeping outside, and connect with other resources that will help them end their experience of homelessness.

Social action program that has free household essentials for community members in need, including clothes, food products, and diapers.
Loans durable medical equipment to residents of Whatcom and Skagit Counties. Equipment loaned includes wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, canes, and bedside and bathroom helpers of all kinds.
Assists families with resources, information and problem solving to help their children succeed in school. Family Services Coordinators are located at Acme Elementary School, Kendall Elementary School, and Harmony Elementary School/ERC Preschool. Holiday assistance programs that provide lower-income families in our community with an opportunity to receive gifts, have gifts for their children, and funds to purchase food for a Christmas dinner celebration.
Annual program available for graduates of Whatcom Dream's Financial Empowerment courses. Participants can shop for brand new toys and gifts at a 75% to 90% discount from the retail price.
Proceeds from purchases at the WHS Thrift Shop benefit daily operations and care for the domestic, wild and farm animals in our shelters.
