YWCA Bellingham offers a variety of different housing programs for women experiencing homelessness: Emergency Shelter, Senior Housing (specifically for women ages 55+), Supported Rental Housing, and a family shelter for women with children. A point of entry to local, state and federal benefits and services for veterans. Services include burial assistance, compensation and pension assistance, employment assistance, health services, housing assistance, legal assistance, social service programs, temporary financial assistance, and transportation.

Provides temporary cash assistance for families in need. Some families participate in the WorkFirst Program which helps participants find and keep jobs. Persons who are eligible may also qualify for Diversion Cash Assistance, which can help with living expenses when a family needs short term assistance and meets program requirements.

Shelter will open when severe cold weather forecasts meet opening criteria. When activated, the shelter will be open from 4:00 PM to 8:00 AM, with check-in from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and lights out from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM. Space is available on a first-come, first-served basis. The space can hold approximately 60 people, with limited storage space for personal belongings. Service, emotional support, and therapy animals are welcome.

Temporary housing program for young adults ages 18 to 24. Provides four beds at each location (Bellingham and Mt. Vernon) where young adults can stay for up to 90 days. Note: HUSLY is accessed through a main application process and is NOT first come, first served.

Pet food, including dog food and cat food, donated by the community for pet owners in need. Food can only be received once per month and is intended to be supplemental or for emergency.

A state-funded program that provides women who are low-income and pregnant and who are not eligible for Temporary Assistance for Needy Families or State Family Assistance with cash assistance and a referral to the HEN program.

Helps adults or adolescents who have been affected by domestic violence, sexual assault, elder abuse, assault & battery, survivor of homicide, and child abuse. Services include: crisis counseling, advocacy for domestic violence and sexual assault crimes, safety planning, legal advocacy, transportation to medical, legal, and therapy appointments, Domestic Violence shelter, traditional healing and emergency assistance.

Emergency housing program that offers housing for minors, ages 13-17 years for up to 90 days. Emergency housing helps youth reprieve and recover from crises, access critical services, and begin to set future goals for safety and stability.

The Whatcom County Triage Center (WCTC) in Bellingham can accommodate up to 16 individuals at once who are experiencing a mental health crisis. Services include crisis stabilization, safety planning, and referrals for ongoing care. Individuals may self-refer or be referred by a community partner such as a behavioral health provider, hospital social worker, or medical provider. The facility can also accept drop-offs from law enforcement and emergency medical technicians as a diversion alternative to jail or the emergency room.
