A statewide toll-free help line available to parents, caregivers, and anyone who has questions about a child in their community. The Family Help Line can help you find resources, parenting classes, and community events, and can provide you with someone to talk to and problem solve with.

Preschool School-Day Programs - Opportunity Council Early Learning and Family Services

Free school-day preschool program (6.5 hours) in 9 locations throughout Whatcom County for income eligible families with children between the ages of 3 and 5. This inclusive preschool program serves all children, including those with disabilities, and can coordinate with school district services to support a child’s special education and healthcare needs. Families enrolled in the program have access to the full range of Opportunity Council community resources including case management, parent and employment education opportunities, and more.

Orthodontic Program - Smiles Change Lives

Provides access to life-changing orthodontic treatment for children from families that cannot afford the full cost of braces and children in foster care. To qualify, families must meet regional income eligibility requirements. Children must be 7-18 years of age, have “good” oral hygiene and no unfilled cavities, have a moderate to severe need for braces, and not be wearing braces currently. \nFoster parents or agencies that are applying for a foster child do not need to submit proof of income to qualify.
