A free transitional kindergarten for students who are not in an early learning program and are scheduled to begin kindergarten the following school year. The district must prioritize families with the lowest incomes and children most in need of additional preparation to be successful in kindergarten. Students must be 4 years old prior to August 31 to be eligible for the current school year.

The Y operates 3 Bellingham located state-licensed, non-profit child development centers for infants to pre-kindergarten. Part-time (up to 3 days/week) and Full-Time (4-5 days/week) options, dependent on availability.

These summer programs allow Vamos to help families that move temporarily to the area to work in agriculture by providing a space for their children to engage in meaningful activities and enjoy their temporary home while their parents are at work. Children are enrolled based on where they live and what school they attend, with priority given to participants that are multilingual and whose dominant language is Spanish.
